Lumsden McCormick Names Three New Partners

Lumsden McCormick has named Timothy J. Bubar, CPA, Mark D. Stack, CPA, and Robert S. Torella, CPA partners effective January 1, 2024.

Timothy (Tim) Bubar has extensive experience in the areas of cost accounting including the design of policies and procedures and systems implementation. He performs a majority of the Firm’s outsourced accounting and advisory services. His experience as a CFO and CEO brings unique insight and value to family businesses and startups, sharing his expertise with companies through the Firm’s involvement with 43North and Start-Up NY. In 2014, Tim passed the Series 7 and 66 exams, acting as a referring advisor for Lumsden & McCormick Financial Services, LLC.

Mark Stack, a ten-year tax division veteran, is responsible for tax compliance services to businesses and individuals. He is the practice leader for the Firm’s state and local tax (SALT) practice, assisting clients maintain compliance and stay up to date on state tax laws and regulations; handling refund claims, state nexus, and taxation analysis; and various other state and local tax compliance requirements across multiple industries. Mark also has extensive experience in international and cross-border taxation and M&A due diligence consulting.

Robert (Bob) Torella has considerable expertise in auditing and accounting for exempt organizations, specifically educational institutions, and arts and entertainment organizations. He is proficient in the audits of employee benefit plans, auto dealerships, and other commercial entities, where he manages and oversees the fieldwork of audit and financial statement services. Additionally, he has significant experience in grant compliance, audits in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance, financial reporting, and taxation.
