Lumsden McCormick Managing Partner Named to Power 200 Women

Lumsden McCormick is pleased to announce that Sara M. Dayton, CPA, Managing Partner, was named to the Buffalo Business First Power 200 Women for 2023.

Dayton, who is making the list for the first time, stated, “I am honored to be selected and to be among so many dynamic, hardworking female leaders who contribute to the success of their organizations and to the greater Western New York Community.”

As managing partner, Dayton carries out the policies and objectives adopted by the Firm's executive committee.  She oversees the management and profitability of the Firm and is responsible for implementing and monitoring actions to achieve the Firm's strategic and future vision. She also monitors developments in the accounting profession and business environment to determine relevance to the Firm and its market leadership position.

Dayton has been with Lumsden McCormick her entire professional career starting as a staff accountant upon graduating from SUNY Geneseo.  She has previously led the firm’s governmental services group and its Accounting and Auditing department before being named managing partner on January 1, 2023.  Sara is a good standing member with the leading global accounting associations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the Government Finance Officers’ Association (GFOA), and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Sara is involved with the NYSSCPA on the state level serving on the Public Schools Accounting Committee and is on the GFOA Western Region Advisory Committee.  She is also a member of the Association of School Business Officials, Western New York Chapter, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
