Promotions Announced - Congratulations

Please join Lumsden McCormick Managing Partner John Schiavone and the Partners in congratulating the individuals receiving promotions on January 1, 2020.

Promoted to Principal

Kerry Roets, CPA joined Lumsden McCormick from the state of Colorado. She has over 10 years’ experience in business tax specializing in federal tax credits, commercial properties, real estate, and partnerships. Kerry holds a Master of Science in taxation from the University of Colorado.

Amanda Mooney, CPA specializes in multi-state and international taxation for both businesses and individuals.  She first joined Lumsden McCormick as an intern prior to graduating from Daemen College.  Amanda enjoys camping in the summer and exploring the various state parks with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.

Robert Torella, CPA, an auditor, specializes in auditing and accounting of exempt organizations, specifically educational institutions, curatorial organizations, and other nonprofit organizations.  When he isn’t working, Bob enjoys playing golf and spending time with this family. He is also a longtime Bills season ticket holder. His favorite vacation spot is Maui.

Promoted to Manager

Angela Miles, CPA, performs tax compliance services for businesses and individuals with specialized knowledge of manufacturing businesses and the nuances of state and local tax (SALT).  Angela enjoys spending time outdoors by gardening, attending Buffalo sporting events, and traveling.  She also commits much of her personal time to volunteer through the Lumsden Making A Difference Committee and B Team Buffalo.

Johnathon Miles, CPA/ABV is responsible for valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support services for Brisbane Consulting Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lumsden McCormick. He has prior public accounting experience working in the tax department of a Syracuse CPA firm and has commercial sales experience working for an automotive firm for more than five years. 

Megan Morris, CPA is a member of the tax team working with both businesses and individuals. Her focus is on consolidated companies, manufacturers, real estate, and service-type companies. In addition, Megan works on R&D tax credits and incentives for start-ups and commercial businesses.  Megan regularly participates in endurance events such as half-marathons, triathlons, and the distance ride for Ride for Roswell. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and supporting new Buffalo businesses and restaurants.

Kristin Re, CPA works primarily with commercial entities with a focus is on various federal, state, and local business development incentives, including Start-Up New York, Excelsior Jobs Program, New York State Film Tax credits, and Federal Research and Development tax credits. Kristin loves art and dogs, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.

Kevin Smeader, CPA is responsible for serving commercial businesses and individuals performing tax planning and compliance services.  A graduate of Daemen College, Kevin focuses on rental real estate, professional services, and multistate income and sales tax.  In his free time, Kevin enjoys golfing and playing poker and is a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder. He also plays guitar and used to be in a band.

Jenna Torella, CPA supervises the conduct of audit fieldwork for nonprofit and governmental organizations. She has expertise working with a considerable number of public and private foundations, human service agencies, and health care institutions. She holds an MBA from St. Bonaventure University.


Promote to Director of Software Sales

Jonathan Urban was promoted to Director of Software Solutions with the Nonprofit Technology Division of Brisbane Consulting Group responsible for sales and installation of AccuFund Accounting software in multiple sectors including nonprofit organizations and governmental entities. He is the main point of contact for both prospects and new/existing clients throughout the implementation process along with on-going technical support.

Promoted to Senior Accountant

Anthony Bradica, CPA has been with Lumsden 2 years, join the tax department after graduating from the University of Buffalo.  It is Anthony’s goal to visit every major league baseball stadium in the country; he has currently visited 17 out of the 30.

Hayden Coll, CPA is a member of the tax department assisting in the preparation of tax filing for both individuals and commercial businesses. Hayden has passed both the Uniform CPA Examination and the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam.  Hayden grew up outside of Toronto and moved to WNY in 2012. In his free time, he likes to golf and exercise; he was an NCAA Division I basketball player in college.

Matt Cronmiller, CPA, as a senior accountant, Matt’s responsibilities include audit fieldwork in the preparation of financial statements for both commercial businesses and exempt organizations. Matt holds an MBA from the University of Buffalo and is a true Buffalo fan, enjoying attending both Bills and Sabres games.

Alex Darrow, CPA is responsible for tax compliance services to businesses and individuals with a focus on private wealth and estate planning.   Alex holds an MBA from Daemen College.  He is a huge Buffalo sports fan and enjoys playing sports such as softball in summer leagues, including, of course, the Lumsden McCormick softball team. He also enjoys golf, cooking, grilling, and eating.

Kristen Herle, CPA works as an auditor in the assurance department, she performs audit fieldwork for nonprofit and exempt organizations. A graduate of Canisius College, Kristen earned an MBA in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.

Alex Intihar joined the Firm as a member of the tax team in early 2018. He provides tax compliance and planning services to a variety of commercial businesses and individuals.

Kyle Januszkiewicz, CPA is a member of the Firm’s assurance team and performs audit and review services for a variety of commercial industries and exempt organizations. In 2017, Kyle was granted the Esther R. Sawyer Research Award for his essay, “The Roles and Future of Internal Audit in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.”  In his spare time, Kyle reads, plays sports video games, plays hockey in local leagues, and spends time with family, friends, and his two dogs.

Adrianna Rossi, an MBA graduate of Niagara University, she is responsible for tax compliance services for businesses and individuals with a focus on commercial entities.  Adrianna enjoys traveling and hopes to visit every state.

Amanda Popovich, CPA, a member of the tax department, Amanda is responsible for tax preparation for businesses and individuals.  She is a graduate of Daemen College earning an MBA in professional accountancy.  Amanda is a Bandits and Sabres fan as well as the St. Louis Cardinals, frequently traveling to games in St. Louis. One of her goals is to go to all 30 MLB stadiums, and she is already a third of the way there.
