The City of Good Neighbors Donation Drive
Monday, September 22–Friday, September 26, 2014
Cyclorama Building, 369 Franklin St.
Lumsden McCormick’s Making A Difference (MAD) committee challenged law firm Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP to a week of caring. Dubbed "The City of Good Neighbors Corporate Donations Drive," the collections took place at each individual office the week of September 22, 2014 with the collection of needed items for four local charities- the Buffalo City Mission; Catholic Charities of Buffalo; Food Bank of WNY; and SPCA Serving Erie County.
More than 1,500 items were collected including canned goods, blankets, baby items, paper products, personal toiletries and over 70 pounds of dog treats. In addition more than $2,000 in cash donations were collected by both firms. The donated items will be delivered this week to the various charities by volunteers from Lumsden McCormick. The cash donations will be given to the charity specified; all other funds will be evenly split between the four charities.
“It was a great effort by both Firms, we hope to make this an annual event,” said Ashley Allen, CPA, chair of the Lumsden McCormick MAD committee. You can view photos from the event on the Lumsden McCormick Facebook page.
Lumsden McCormick's Making A Difference Committee (MAD) was created in January 2013 to provide opportunities for individuals at the firm to make a difference in our community through not only financial support but an investment of time by volunteering. The goal is to give our time and support to nonprofit and service organizations in Western New York with staff run and supported jeans days, volunteer events and collection drives. Since the committee’s inception in 2013, the Firm has supported more than 40 local charities.
